Gypsum and soil improvers are usually spread over the surface before we commence to give the soil every chance to support the new lawn or plants which are going to use it.

This technique while not quite as good as removing the old lawn or soil and replacing it with the high quality loams available is considerably cheaper if you are on a tight budget.

By not having to pay for the dumping of unclean fill and the extra time required to cart it to a recycling depot, you are effectively recycling your own garden and greatly reducing your expenditure while still ending up with a great result.
